Bimetallic steam trap ( BST )

As the name implies, bimetallic steam traps are constructed using two strips of dissimilar metals welded together into one element. The element deflects when heated. (Figure 3):
There are two important points to consider regarding this simple element:

Balanced pressure steam trap ( BPST )

Balanced pressure steam trap with replaceable capsule
A large improvement on the liquid expansion trap is the balanced pressure trap, shown in Figure 2 Its operating temperature is affected by the surrounding steam pressure. The operating element is a capsule containing a special liquid and water mixture with a boiling point below that of water. In the cold conditions that exist at start-up, the capsule is relaxed. The valve is off its seat and is wide open, allowing unrestricted removal of air. This is a feature of all

Liquid expansion steam trap ( LEST)

 Liquid expansion steam trap

This is one of the simplest thermostatic traps and is shown in Figure 1 An oil filled element expands when heated to close the valve against the seat. The adjustment allows the temperature of the trap discharge to be altered between 60°C and 100°C, which makes it ideally suited as a device to get rid of large quantities of air and

WHAT IS A BATTERIES AND ITS INVENTION

There are a lot of different kinds of batteries, but they all function based on the same underlying concept.In the modern era, electrical energy is normally converted from mechanical energy, solar energy, and chemical energy etc.  “A battery is a device

General Uses Electrical Formulas

Electrical Formulas:-
Electrical Current Formulas
Electrical Current Formulas in DC Circuit
I=V/R
I = P/V
I = √P/R
*Where
I = Current in Amperes (A)
V = Voltage in Volts (V)
P = Power in Watts (W)
R = Resistance in Ohm (Ω)
Electrical Current Formulas in Single Phase AC Circuit
I = P / (V x Cosθ)
I=(V/Z) …Where Z = impedance = Resistance of AC Circuits
Electrical Current Formulas in Three Phase AC Circuit

Ohm’s Law with simple example

The relationship between Current through and Voltage across a conductor was first discovered by a German scientist George Simon Ohm. This relationship is called Ohm’s Law and be stated as;
The Current “I” flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference i.e. Voltage “V” across its ends provided the physical conditions (i.e. temperature, strain, etc) do not change.
In other words;
In any electric circuit, the Current “I” is directly proportional to the applied Voltage “V” and inversely proportional to the

What is Motor Efficiency & How to improve it?

Electric motor is a type of machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy using the interaction between magnetic field and current in its winding to produce/generate force in the motor. If we actually reverse this process then mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy and that is done by generators .Electromagnetism Is the main phenomenon that is used by motors.

WHY WE NEED BOILER WATER TREATMENT FOR POWER PLANT

Did you know that when water is converted to steam it expands in volume over 1,000 times and that it travels a down a steam pipe at over 100 kilometres/hr? Steam is a great way of moving energy and heat around a site from a central boiler house to where it is needed, but without the right boiler feed water treatment, a steam-raising plant will suffer from scale formation and corrosion. At best, this increases energy costs and can lead to poor quality steam, reduced efficiency, shorter plant life and an operation

Proedure of douing Boiler Performance Test

The performance test in a boiler evaluates the practically achievable boiler efficiency. Performance tests are also carried out to prove boiler guarantees. As guarantees involve contractual conditions, the procedure involved are more elaborate than the test for evaluating performance.
Conducting a boiler performance test can be for understanding the current level of performance of the boiler, for any trouble shooting of the boiler for performance deviations, and for proving the performance guarantees. These entire three requirements can be met by the procedure adopted for performance guarantee testing. Before
